Free Design Application
Is the Oceantide3D designer free?
Yes. You can create a design and download its STL or 3MF files for free.
Can I use my downloaded designs commercially?
The designer may be used for personal and commercial projects, provided you have permission to use every name, logo, image, and other item in the design and follow the applicable licence and attribution requirements for built-in assets.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to design or download. An optional private Etsy save asks for consent but does not create a customer account.
Which file types can I download?
STL is the most widely supported option. A standards-based 3MF preserves registered parts and colour assignments in one file. Always inspect either format in your slicer.
Is my uploaded artwork stored?
Not while you prepare, preview, or download a design. PNG, JPG, JPEG, and SVG artwork is processed in your browser. If you separately consent to an Etsy save, only normalized contours, settings, previews, and printable files are included—the original uploaded file and raw SVG markup are not.
Which image formats are supported?
The designer accepts PNG, JPG, JPEG, and SVG (Beta). SVG works best for simple, single-colour logos or silhouettes made from closed filled paths. Convert text and strokes to outlines first. Every processed result must be reviewed before saving or downloading.
What kinds of images work best?
Simple, bold, high-contrast silhouettes with a clean or transparent background work best. Photographs, gradients, hairline strokes, compression artifacts, and tiny details may not convert reliably.
Does Oceantide3D grant rights to brands, logos, or characters?
No. You must own or have permission to use protected names, logos, characters, team marks, school marks, and other content. Open-licence built-in assets do not grant rights to third-party trademarks or franchises.
Can every design be guaranteed to print perfectly?
No. Print Check identifies known geometry risks, but artwork, printer calibration, nozzle size, material, slicer, orientation, and settings can affect the result.
Can I print the files myself?
Yes. Download the STL or 3MF and use a compatible slicer and printer. The files do not include G-code or printer-specific settings.
Can I make a keychain STL without CAD software?
Yes. Oceantide3D creates the printable geometry in your browser. Add text and artwork, inspect the 2D and 3D previews, pass Print Check, and download the STL or 3MF without using CAD software.
Can I design a personalized hockey keychain or sports bag tag?
Yes. You can combine a player name, jersey number, colours, and generic sports artwork. Only use team, school, league, or organization marks when you have permission from the rights holder.
Can I make several personalized tags for a team, club, or event?
Yes, but each finished design is currently reviewed and saved separately. Create the designs you need and contact Oceantide3D through Etsy before ordering to confirm the suitable listing, quantity, timing, and available options.
Is Oceantide3D responsible for printer or slicer settings?
No. If you print the file yourself, you are responsible for slicing, printer setup, materials, supervision, maintenance, and safe operation.
Etsy Orders
Can I use the designer if I do not own a 3D printer?
Yes. Design and review the keychain here, save a private production copy, then use its O3D reference with the matching Etsy order for a finished print.
How do I order a physical printed item?
Create and review the design, choose Save secure copy, copy the O3D reference, then place the physical-product order through the linked Etsy shop.
Do I pay through Oceantide3D?
No. This website does not collect payment information or process purchases. Payment is handled through Etsy.
Is saving a design the same as placing an order?
No. Saving creates a temporary private production package and reference. You must still purchase the appropriate Etsy listing.
Where do I enter my design reference?
Paste the full O3D reference into the personalization box for the matching Etsy listing.
Can I change a design after ordering?
Contact Oceantide3D through Etsy as soon as possible. A change may be possible before production starts, but is not guaranteed and may require a new approved design reference.
Where are current prices and shipping estimates shown?
The Etsy listing is authoritative for current price, available options, shipping estimates, taxes, and delivery information.
Where are return and cancellation policies shown?
The applicable Etsy listing and shop-policy pages contain the current return, exchange, and cancellation terms for physical orders.
How long is a saved Etsy design retained?
An unordered secure copy cannot be retrieved after 10 calendar days and is then queued for removal. The exact server-recorded expiry appears in the save receipt. Retention connected to an active order may differ as needed to fulfil and support that order.
What happens if my design reference does not work?
Check that the full O3D reference was copied without changes. If it still fails, contact Oceantide3D through Etsy or email support and include the reference and a description of the problem—never send your private management token.
How do I contact Oceantide3D about an Etsy order?
Use Etsy Messages from your order or email support@oceantide3d.ca. Etsy Messages are preferred for order-specific details.
